How To Choose The Right Toothbrush.

Brushing your teeth twice a day for at least two minutes each time is the key to maintaining healthy teeth and preventing gum infections. However, it is also essential that you choose the right toothbrush and use the appropriate brushing techniques. Long gone are the days when toothbrushes were a matter of color choice.

Due to continued research and technological advancements, toothbrush manufactures now produce a wide variety including electric brushes. When buying a new toothbrush, one might get confused or frustrated trying to sort out the different styles, sizes, head shapes and textures.

Here is a helpful guide on how to choose the right toothbrush

Bristle sensitivity

edsxfcvbnIt is advisable to go for the softer bristles. However, there are different types of toothbrush bristles specifically designed to meet certain needs. Extra soft bristles are recommended for individuals with sensitive teeth or those recovering from a dental treatment. You should also not forget to buy a new toothbrush after every three or four months because once the bristles bend, they fail to clean your teeth properly. You might also consider natural bristles made from the root of an Arawak tree, even though they are more costly, they have been reported to be more effective than nylon bristles.

Choosing the right electric brush

Their use has however become more popular because they brush better than regular toothbrushes. There are different types of electric toothbrushes including rotating-oscillating, pulsing, and dual head. Before buying an electric toothbrush, you should find out its battery life and how often you will need to replace its brush head. Other important features to consider are whether it has a timer or pressure sensors. It should also have a soft grip handle.

Size and shape

Even though some handles are creatively designed to please the eye, what you should settle for is one that is comfortable to hold.
